Headwaters II - Arbouretum

Headed for gone away days, to where they begin

From where it springs

from far off

Unwinding spools of

A ribbon laid out

Growing as it falls

I’ve been downstream for as long as I can recall

The days go by

Rolling and drifting away

creek up above

And I spend all the time

Watching rising tides, and

Forward or behind

Where then would you proffer the line?

Coursing in my mind

The down

Sun on bare stone to the whistling winds home I’ll return

Before the song ends

And the firelit dancers are frozen

The rivers borne high where the sky

As time unrolls

Down the bordered sides and under the treeline
