I’ve only seen 23 summertimes

Nearly had another brother, but he shut his eyes

Pretty sure that I must’ve lived another life

If I could give it, then he could’ve had one of mine

I got a lot of gifts, more than I could ever wish

But, at best, see my life like a dozen dimes

Lucky enough to have even found love in life

As strong as what a child sees in its mother’s eyes

But I always get caught up in every single sort of

«It rally ain’t important» that I can find

You’d be impressed by th way that I can stress

All the little problems I create in my troubled mind

And you and I may never even meet

But at least we can take in the scenery

So please don’t stress the little things

Forget the never-dids and make 'em be

Open your eyes, my love

You know that feeling when your heart breaks open

When you swear you’ll spend your last days lonely

Of course you do, it’s all consuming

But there’s no thing I’d rather be than only human

I try to make myself reflect on the way that I forget

All the things that I have, all the good with the bad

But isn’t that the best?

Being able to forget

We wouldn’t treasure memories if they weren’t all we had

This life ain’t roses, it’s mostly thorns

It sure ain’t perfect, at least it’s yours

If someone takes your place, they can keep it warm

Try singing in the rain;

you can weather the storm

But at least we can take in the scenery

So please don’t stress the little things

I always manage to forget the bigger picture

And get it so framed up or paint it as a villain

If you spend too much time only staring at the brush-strokes

You could miss a masterpiece in amongst those

And I’m so scared of starting new endeavours

That I couldn’t see an angel for the feathers
