Blinded by the desert sand and cast adrift at sea

I was walking out my front door thinking life might be the death of me

Not enough to keep but still too much to throw away

I’ve been gone for quite some time now,

But I’m coming home to stay

Now I’m done running, I promise you

But until you arrive somewhere you’ll be running, you’ll always be running

So stay away from me

We can’t make a home like this when you’re running

I caught a taxi out of town and hitched the night away

I’m coming back to where I started, please don’t tell me it’s too late

Being lost is here and there, and it’s such an uphill fight

If I can just get back to you somehow, maybe things will line up right

Your luck is good you’re riding high out on the sea

But I can’t be the one you fall one, I can’t be the one you need

And even if you kept your word, I took the chance
