I’m letting go, I’m giving in

As the rough seas take me where I’ve never been

I drift out to nowhere

No sense of home

All thats left has drowned

I was told storms will not last forever*

But this one won’t seem to leave

The lightning strikes the ground around me

The thunder shakes the earth beneath

Waiting for the day to come

When the rain will finally let up

The tides never cease before me

The waves still crash right through me

The darkness won’t turn to light

I forget the meaning of bright

My eyes won’t adjust to this

My brain can’t fight it
