I woke up in a home

Which didn’t feel like home anymore

For I lost my heart and soul in a country

That used to be a stranger

An endless loop of undeniable change

Set my heart on fire

And made it burn fiercely

But you just lit the fire

You never intended to keep it alive

Your wish is not to tend to the flames

If you could have just told me

I’d put out the fire

And carry my ashes in a jar

Instead of letting go with the wind back to you

I’d hoped you would rekindle me

For nothing
