Tempest's Chant - Howling Sycamore

As the mind begins to chant

The heartbeat sinks into dead silence

Sonic waves line up into one

As the channel opens up

The silver muse takes over

Whispering souls surround my chair

Their cloak tails spiral on the floor

The eye of the storm right under my feet

The electric humming eats me up

Down below

Being one with oneself

Feels like unleashing an entire army

Layer after layer

I draw matter and emptiness

I forget them out of thin air

I walk to doors shut by the self

I look on the other side to find my way in

I don’t doubt

I just go

Is upside down the only true way to see?

Fingers turn into rays of light

Piercing dark matter

With the curiosity of the lost child in me

These glaring tentacles reach up above

Looking for truth to grab and hold them tight as wines on the walls

When lightning strikes

I’ll make sure to grip on even harder

May my nails scrape off a bit of immense

Enough to light my whole body with it

Only then I’ll accept defeat

And while falling

May the sound of my dissolution

Be as glorious as the hummingbird’s flicker

The glimpse of an eye

Is where wholeness lays

I’ll steal it from the claw of time

I’ll keep it alive in my memory

Like a lapis lazuli on my shrine

To resonate for years

Like a bell in the distance

Where hills get eaten by the widest of oceans

Lessons of the past

Are orbs darting in a corner

May the sight catch them when in need

As the ghost tales should not be forgotten
