Abyss -

Could never understand why I never could belong

These days & nights go by while the future rests unstirred

I’m balled up like a child, sleeping on its back

And in the blackest nights, we’re running just to collapse

I’m lonely without you, and I swear that it’s the truth

in a heap inside our room

Who will reach into the abyss and pull me from this mess?

I remember Northern Spain, how the culture was not mine

You would make me feel appeased;

The silence

rectified by words so sharp & plain, like
