on their knees collecting all the coins that fell beneath

before i bury you

her face was honest and her clothes were off the rack

she made you happy and she’s never coming back

and now there’s nothing left

to stop the next attack

my hands are bound up and i’m dragged by the hull

all at once and all alone

if this is a test it’s as hard as they come

you’re standing on a hill and your sword is pointed up

i’ve fallen on the blade and i’m deepening the cut

not one drop of blood will

ever reach the dust
