I’m waiting for a brighter side of life

That I can’t seem to find

But I know I’m getting close

The grass is getting greener every step

Every stumble

And your breath it fills the air lately

And your presence fills a void

And it’s been getting pretty hard

To write these songs about happiness

When all I feel is loss

When everyone is lost around me

We might have missed the cutoff

We might have slept in late

But there’s no use in complaining

What the hell will that achieve

I took two steps toward the window

Fell two floors to the ground

Crawled two miles to your bedroom

Just to find that you moved out

And all that dust that never settled

All that caution in the wind

All that blood spilled on the concrete

And you’re the only thing haunting me

And I can’t help but to think

That this was all my fucking fault

And you’ll be happier without me
