I can’t imagine silence

When I’m drowning in the dark

Clinging to the hand of

Of my ever pounding heart

I barely keep the rhythm

I’ve been drumming on repeat

Rapping on my fragile dream

You wove beneath my feet

Somewhere in my memory

I’ve been beating out your heart

Tearing still in fragments

Like dust, they drift apart
