Old Mr. Johnson had troubles of his own

He had a yellow cat who wouldn’t leave his home

He tried and he tried to give that cat away

Even sent him to Australia and told him there to stay

But the cat came back, the very next day

The cat came back, they thought he was a goner

And then he gave that cat to a man in a balloon

He promised that he’d take him straight up the moon

The big balloon came down about 50 miles away

And where that man was living now, no one can really say

And then they took that cat and they thought it would be best

To put him on a train that was going way out west

The train was speeding down the track and then it hit a rock

And all the people on that train suffered greatly from the shock…

They even mailed him in a box the whole world around

But he always kept coming to his own home-ground
