A sign of your finest days

A toast

Brings it all to an uneventful end

Uneventful to you

You’re the one stepping down

From your throne, from your pedestal

But to those people that put you there

You are everything

Where did you go?

Now you’re giving up or giving in and giving everything no meaning

I guess honor and commitment get old after awhile

When the message is the same and the words are repeated

The whole thing gets redundant

But redundant and routine are two completely different things

Maybe someone needs to tell you that

Maybe it’s a good thing you left

But now we have no direction

So maybe not

Where did you go?

I’d let you drink my blood if the taste of wine gets cold and unappetizing

But I’d never let you leave from your saintly pedestal, because I put you there
