Dreams - The Streets

No idea of the time at all, I had a dream about a bicycle

Just the chain and pedals, not much detail, I recall

Choking on the Tylenol, my whole throat’s on fire

I drink as much as I can drink, I feel dire

The meaning of the dream is missing, watching TV won’t find it

The book some little shit nicked, that would have deciphered it

My mind’s stinging, sky’s chinking in, I might dip the blinds a bit

As channels change, time flicks, while I’m thinking

Sweat in every pore, clothes soaking and stewed

Then freezing cold and a shivering flu

Searing pain through to the back of my throat, sipping soup

My eyes hurt from all the tripping too

I put the covers back and swallow, swallow and feel hot

Why am I having this dream about this bicycle?

What?

My mind’s trying to slip me the wisdom it’s been thinking

But my body isn’t in the spirit to listen

My dreams teach me which dreams I need to seek

Reveal the deceits I speak but keep believing

But dreams speak in speech, scream and squeak to me

Which is the reason I’m weak to see what I need

The drugs are creeping in, they’re easing the grief

Relieving the fever, only leaving a week to use

Getting easier to deal with, it’s getting easier to breathe

I could even heave weed

Do two more of these beans, three of these

I’m breathing easier and I’ve seen what the dream means

The bike in my mind, the wheels are wheeling but I can leave it be

Settle on the channel pleasing me for once on the TV

I see what I asked of, I release the laptop

I’m not so madly cold, that’s gone

Pull the covers back, chuffed I’m over that

The answer was on my lap, I read it on the Net that

Says a dream about bicycles means you’re reeling 'round in cycles

And you need to leave things behind you

And I’m not filled with questions any more

I feel much better and blanker

The answer I kept asking for was to stop requesting answers
